It is nice to see a perfect match alliance- it is so rare! But when Starbucks and Pepsico got together to create the popular coffee-flavoured drink 'frappuccino', it was a great success for both companies. You see, Starbucks wanted to get into bottled drinks market and this was a perfect way to do it, and Pepsico was interested in  creating an innovative product, which they did. Each company met their strategic goals!

Well, you know, I have to say the Daimler-Chrysler merger got off to a bad start. That was mainly because they had very different corporate cultures. But they worked hard to sort out their differences and problems, and everything came right in the end. They had to make sure it did, really, because even though they were powerful players in the automotive industry, they both felt that they couldnt face the competition alone.

As for Disney and Miramax, well, when you think about it, it didn't have a chance from the start. They are so different it couldn't succeed. But Miramax needed the cash and Disney is a very rich company. Disney liked the serious image which Miramax brought and wanted to be linked with that image. But how could the controversial and serious movies of Miramax ever find anything in common with the Disney family movies? Personally, I wasn't that surprised it failed.

第一次聽的時候,我完全聽不出 innovative...
另外,strategic發/strəˈtiː.dʒɪk/ 跟strategy不同。

第二段的 corporate 應該是偏美式發音/ˈkɔːr.pɚ-/
